deconstructing Music pt 3: deconstructing pachelbel's canon in Dmaj
finally I've been able to finish this!! The following two animations is attempting to address (or deconstruct) the experiential / sequential quality of the musical edifice.
in the beginning of the animation.. the blandness of visual content during the movement does not marry well with the connotative class of the played score. Or in other words, the damp and dark feeling of the thresholds do not appear appropriate as a setting for the type of music.
But.. as it progressed, the environment changed -- and possibly also the rhythm of the movement (or distance between thresholds) have also changed. Movement appeared to have slowed down a little bit, and the rhythm of the music feels to have aligned.
The change is kind of interesting. The inappropriateness of the beginning can almost be used to build up the end. But, at the same time, does this occur in the music? Or is that even relevant that the spaces and the music need to be developed on a reciprocal level..
And quite possibly I have missed the whole point -- as I have yet to read everything that's been posted... Peace!
